FOTD & Review

Hello! So I'm going to do a review on the product below:

Now before I talk about this palette I'm going to post some pictures of it! Yay for pictures!

I got two different palettes:

They don't really have a name for the palettes except palette 1 and 2.

Here is palette 1:

Palette 2:

Swatches: First row of colors on top of Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
Second row has no base.

Look I've done with palette 1:

Look I've done with Palette 2:

The Review:
If you have ever used the Original Coastal Scent 88 Palette this is very similar. However, with these palettes all the shadows have sort of a metallic finish. Similar to the Coastal Scents Metal Mania Palette except these ones have more colorful colors as well such as blue, yellow, green, and tons of pinks and purples. The texture of these shadows are very smooth & very pigmented! Ever since I've gotten these palettes I haven't even really touched my other shadows. They all the colors I really need & the colors are great for work!

But the best thing about these two palettes...

Yup you read that right the palettes were both three dollars!! I got these at Family Dollar which is the last place I'd ever think would have a great palette like these. They're the same size as the Coastal Scent 88 palettes. But the only con is they may not be available at all Family Dollars. I liked the palettes so much that I got another back up for each one.

Which is still only 12 dollars all together. What a deal right? Definitely go check your Family Dollar store if you have one in your area! There is a website on the back of the palette which you can click here to see if the palette is there. All I can is I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this palette!!!

Anyway here was my OOTD for yesterday:
I love how crazy the stockings in this outfit is; since the skirt and top are kind of plain this adds a little something without having to add a crazy accessory.

I'm wearing the ring from my last blog post. I got a ton of compliments wearing this ring and how the design is so unique. I love how I didn't even spend 5 bucks on the ring!

I hope you all have a wonderful day today & thank you again to all those who served and are currently serving for our country!

Until Next time!

It's getting cooler!

Time for a new post! I decided to change the template on my blog. Is it a yay or a nay? Please let me know because I'm not even sure how I feel about it.

Yesterday I spent the majority of my day Christmas shopping early so that I could get some gifts out of the way.

GIFT LIST:
Mom
Dad
Brother
Brother's Girlfriend
Boyfriend
Boyfriend's Mom
Boyfriend's Dad
Boyfriend's Sister

I purchased the perfume below for my mom. I wanted to purchase a gift set for her but the lady at Estee Lauder said that since the fragrance was so new, they will not have gift set this year. So I decided to get the biggest size instead.

For my dad and brother I went to a store called Cotton On. The store actually just opened on Friday at the mall I went to. It's an Australian based clothing store that spread to Asia then to the the U.S. starting with California and is now making a mark here in Florida. I think I'm really going to like this store. The store seems like a blend of Zara and H&M combined! Which, in my book, is a great combination. Please excuse my tiredness in this picture. You can look at some of their clothes, shoes, & accessories here.

These are a few things I picked up for myself from Cotton On:

Two scarves, one for me, and one for my mom. I love how they're rolled up like this when you buy them.

You gotta love when you can get a shirt for $6.90!

I'm still not sure what to get my boyfriend's dad, sister, and my brother's girlfriend. Any suggestions?
Here are a couple other things I picked up while I was out yesterday:

After I was done shopping at the mall I went to Plato's Closet. If you don't know what Plato's Closet is click hereWhile I was waiting for my clothes to be inspected I looked around and found this ring that was too adorable to pass up. I love how the ring doesn't completely close. If you look in the second picture you can see that there's a Tiffany & Co. engraving on the inside of the ring. I didn't even notice it until I got home. But I'm positive this is a knock off. The ring only cost me $2.00.

After Plato's I went to Goodwill to drop off some clothes that Plato's Closet didn't want. While I was there I looked around and picked up this belt. It only cost me 1.09 and looks like it's never been worn. Another plus, it's real leather. Got to love a leather belt for a dollar. Don't be afraid to buy from thrift/consignment stores. You just have to keep an open mind and remember to wash everything you buy from there! haha Just kidding...nevermind I'm not. But just have a good eye and you'll find cute stuff!

I also went to GNC where I picked up my favorite toner for the winter and for nighttime:

I absolutely loveeeee this toner! I may do a review on it. But in another post. You can read about this great stuff here.

And now for the FOTD's:

Look #1
FACE:
Serious Skin Care HydraPixel (as my primer)
Clinique Even Better Foundation in 05 Neutral (FAVORITE FOUNDATION!)
Clinique Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder in 03 Stay Beige

All my shadows in this look are from the original Coastal Scents 88 palette except:
Bare Minerals eyeshadow in Opal for my inner tear duct
NYX White Eyeliner Pencil for my water line
Loreal Linear Intense Carbon Black
Lancome Hypnose Drama
MAC Brun for my brows

LIPS:
Loreal Endless Lipstick in Chocolate Obsession
This is a very pigmented lipstick so I barely have
to put any of it on!

The circled shadows are the ones used:

Look #2
FACE:
Serious Skin Care HydraPixel (as my primer)
Clinique Even Better Foundation in 05 Neutral Clinique Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder in 03 Stay Beige
Ulta Blush in Sun Kissed

EYES:
I used all the shadows on the right side of this Estee Lauder Palette.
I got the palette in a gift set for spending a certain amount at their counter.
If you're interested, I believe the shadows are sold in Estee Lauder Signature Quads
Loreal Lineur Intense Carbon Black
Clinique Lash Building Primer
Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara

Lips:
Clinique Lipstick Watermelon (only a little though, it's a very pigmented lipstick)
MAC Dazzleglass in Funtabulous

So that's it for my post! So now I'm going to get ready and try and finish the rest of my Christmas shopping if possible and run some errands. I hope you all had a lovely weekend & have a wonderful week!

Tootles!

An Introduction... and FOTD

Hello everyone that may have stumbled upon here! I decided to make a blog!

So I haven't really had a blog before unless you count my posts on Asian Beauty Blog/ABB haha. I decided making a blog would be cool so that I could keep track of my make up looks as well as see how I grow in my makeup and everything else in my life that I post on here!
I'm really excited to start a blog to see how much I grow in everything!

So let me introduce myself a little bit..

My name is April and I'm in college right now which is kind of fun for the most part! I also have two jobs. One at the hospital (not medical related) and also at a retail store. I have an awesome family and a great boyfriend! You'll probably see me post about school, work, my family, my boyfriend, and other ramblings on this blog... but you'll most likely see me post things on beauty and makeup which I'm so excited about!

I hope you enjoy! Even though I'm not really sure if anyone is going to read this.. haha

I'm going to start off with my Face of the Day [F.O.T.D] for today.

FACE:
Serious Skin Care HydraPixel (As my primer)
Clinique Even Better Foundation in 05 Neutral
Clinique Stay Matter Sheer Pressed Powder in 03 Stay Beige
Ulta Sun Kissed Blush for Cheeks

EYES:
MAC Humid Eyeshadow for lid
Original Coastal Scent 88 Palette
Stila Kajal eye liner in Sapphire for waterline
Loreal Lineur Intense in Carbon Black
Bare Minerals Opal Eyeshadow for inner tear duct
Clinique Lash Building Primer
Lancome Hypnose Drama

The circled shadows are the one's I used.
Well.. Obviously, why else would I circle them. haha

As you can see I've already hit pan on two of
the shadows in the palette. This is the only Coastal Scents Eyeshadow palette I own. I think this is  pretty good deal if you want to try a bunch of different shadows without breaking the bank. I barely even use the brighter colors since they're not appropriate for either of my jobs. Unfortunately.. boo. ha

MAC Humid which I used on the lid

I decided to curl my hair today. I used my hair straightener to curl my hair.

And here is just a little snippet of my life!

This is our dog Reyna!

And if you're wondering why she is wearing a diaper.. she's partially paralyzed. The previous owners stepped on her when she was first born. It's kind of a sad story but she has improved so much! We've gotten her to the point where she can run around and even jump up onto our couch and it doesn't make her tired. However she still can't control her bowel movements. If she didn't wear the diaper there would be droppings everywhere which is so not but the business! ha

So that's it for my FOTD and my small introduction!
Until my next post... tootles!
