School is Crazy!

Hey everyone! I know I haven't made a post in a while. School has been really intense and I'm kind my schedule is constantly packed with school and work lately. I'm also a little bit worried about applying to other nursing programs which I plan on doing because the nursing program I am currently attending has a nursing program that is really difficult to get into. So I'm applying to other colleges' nursing programs in hopes of getting into one! *CROSSES FINGERS* As you may or may not know my fiance is in the Air Force and is currently stationed in another state and I'm thinking about applying to a nursing program in that state. As of right now, I'm a pre-nursing student. I'm not sure if other schools out of Florida do that but for most nursing programs in Florida you have to take your pre-requisites prior to getting accepted into the program. Whereas the program in the state my fiance lives in has the nursing program and the regular academic courses (math, english, anatomy I&II, micro, chem.,etc.) within the nursing program. I'm really worried about not getting into a nursing program. Did any of you have to wait a while to get into a program or did you get into one right away? Is nursing a popular major in your state? I feel as though nursing is one of the top majors here due to the number of retirees that reside here. Yet, with all the people wanting to get into a program, only a handful get in. And I ACTUALLY want to be a nurse. Ugh. Anyway, I guess I have to get back to studying now, I absolutely have to get all A's this semester because these are my science/nursing type courses. Wish me luck! I'll try and post again soon about stuff unrelated to school. hehe

Too Faced Neutral Eye Shadow Dupe! For only $6.99!!!!!

Hello Everyone! So as you may or may not have noticed from reading my blog, I LOVE neutral eye shadows! I just love how sophisticated you can make colors like brown, taupe, white, and combine those colors to compliment one's eyes. With that, I'm always on the lookout for natural eyeshadow palettes that are affordable and compact enough to bring to travel! Of course, one of the palettes I had planned to buy was the Too Faced Neutral Eye Shadow palette. Yet, I really can't justify spending $36 dollars for an eyeshadow palette right now. However, when I went to Rue 21 and saw a palette that looked almost identical to the Too Faced one I figured I had to give it a try! I'm so glad I did! When you see the pictures of the palette you'll be surprised how much the two palettes look alike!

[With Flash] Rue 21 Natural Eye Kit

[Without Flash] Rue 21 Natural Eye Kit

Swatch without a base

Don't the two look so similar?! Right off the bat, at least 6 of the shadows are on par to the Too Faced ones. The other three (the column of shadows on the right) aren't really exact dupes, but the colors in the Rue 21 palette actually work perfectly for my skin tone. Although I don't own the Too Faced Neutral Eye Palette, the quality of the Rue 21 Natural Eye Kit has far surpassed my expectations. Anyway, here's a few photos of some looks that I did using the palette. The looks are going from the biggest shadow then going across the palette. Enjoy! :)

I love love love this palette! The price isn't bad either! ;) Hope you guys can get your hands on this palette and try it out for yourself! I'm so excited about this dupe. I can't wait to try out cheaper alternatives to other high-end products!

Hope you guys have a great week!

September Birchbox

Hey everyone! Hope you're all having a good week so far! Anyway, today I got my September Birchbox! If you're not sure what Birchbox is, it's a company that  I am so happy with all the products in this month's box. Especially because I saw the Colorescience pro mineral powder foundation! It's actually funny that I got a foundation from them this month because the foundation I am using on my face now (Pur Minerals foundation in Blush Medium) is the one that I received in my July Birchbox which I have already hit pan on and was considering purchasing. However, since this month I got the colorescience foundation in this box I'm going to try that out and save my money for a couple months! :)
Anyway here's a run through on the products in this month's box.

September Birchbox:
-Colorescience Mineral Powder Foundation
-Incoco Nail Polish Applique (I can't wait to try this!)
-Jouer Lip Enhancer *I'm wearing this on my lips right now and love how soft it makes my lips feel.
-Jurlique Purely Age-Defying Firm and Lift Cream *I'll probably give this to my mom..
-Salvatore Ferragamo *I like this scent. When I first sprayed it on my skin it smelled like a combination of Chanel No.5 and Clinique Happy combined, but after a while the scent smells really light and fresh! I'm probably going to be carry this in my purse until it runs out!
-Birchbox Friendship Bracelet *It's so cute! Thank goodness it's not some tacky looking bracelet! haha I love how simple the design of the bracelet is! I'm also pleased that it's not a bracelet I have to tie!

I hope you guys all have a great rest of the week! I know my week is going to be spent getting ready for 4 quizzes and two exams! Wish me luck!

Until next time!

What's in my Travel Bag + some traveling tips!

Hello everyone! Excuse me for my lack of posting for last week or so! Over labor day weekend I went to visit my fiancé at his home base (he's in the Airforce). Since he and I our currently in a long distance relationship while I am in school we travel to see one another as often as possible! Which means I am traveling quite a lot! So I thought I would show you all what's in my travel makeup bag as well as some traveling tips! So let's begin!

Overview: The liquid containers can be no more than 3.4 fl. oz. Fortunately, a lot of makeup products are less about 3 oz or less! So be prepared! Use a clear bag. Some airports even ask to take the cosmetics bag out to further inspect what is in the liquid containers.

 Face Products:
-Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer
-Elf Tinted Moisturizer (I mix the two moisturizers to match my skin tone)
-Laura Geller Blush-n-Brighten in Honey Dipped (A great blush and bronzer in one!)
-Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Mineral Makeup
-Simply Ageless eye concealer ( I love this product it works as more than an eye concealer!)

Eye Products:
-Loreal Million Lashes
-Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance
-Loreal Lineur Intense
-Define-a-Brow
-ELF Beauty School 32 Piece Eyeshadow Palette (LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!!)

 The ELF Eyeshadow Palette

I love this palette because it only cost $4.99 and has a fantastic color pay off as well being compact! I completely recommend that you purchase this palette! It's slightly smaller than my mac palette as you can see and if you were to damage (which hopefully wouldn't happen) your palette then at least 5 dollars was spent rather than $35 or $40! I've been using this palette everyday since I purchased it (which was right before my trip).

Travel Tips:
#1 Wear comfortable clothes: I suggest plain jeans and a t-shirt. Don't wear a belt or a lot of accessories that way going through security will go smoothly rather than having to take off a belt, earrings, necklace etc.

#2 Wear comfortable shoes: I suggest shoes that can be slipped on and off rather than tennis shoes with ties, of heels.

#3 Don't forget to eat!: During travel a lot of people are in a rush to get from on place to another. If there isn't enough time between terminals bring along snacks that will fill.
So that's just a few traveling tips! If you have any travel tips feel free to leave them in the comments section! :) I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend! And happy travels!
