Sunday: The Day of Rest...NOT!

School started back up this past week and I've been really liking my schedule for my classes. I don't have a morning class nor do I have a night class. Thank god. I learned my lesson from last semester that having a class too early wasn't working and having class til about 10 o'clock at night was making my brain so worn! So I love my new schedule. However, the work I have to put into these classes are incredible! I'm taking Anatomy & Physiology I, Medical Terminology, and Human Nutrition. So far that classes aren't too bad, but the actual work I have to do is insane! My medical terminology class requires about an hour or so a night which isn't too bad. But my A&P class requires about 2 or 3 hours a night of rewriting notes, and reading/memorizing! I'm really scared of the test that's going to be coming up in that class! If anyone has any tips for studying for Anatomy and Physiology let me know! I have a pulse pen (which I may have a review on later)which records audio during my anatomy class. I've actually found this pen really useful considering all the notes that I have to take and the chance of missing something the professor might have mentioned. Anyway, I just wanted to do a little update! Hope everyone is doing well in school and best of luck to all the new nurses! I can't wait until I'm in your shoes ^-^!

Wishing you a wonderful week!

Quick Back to School Makeup!

So I go back to school tomorrow! So I decided to do a very simple back to school look that takes just under 7 minutes (that includes washing my face and moisturizing)!  Actually, I guess it's two looks because some days I wear the eyeliner and some days without. You'll see what the makeup looks like with and without the eyeliner. Enjoy (:

Products Used:
Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup in Blush Medium
Covergirl&Olay Simply Ageless Eye Concealer in 220
Estee Lauder eye shadow palette (Can easily be substituted)
Maybelline Define-a-brow for dark blondes
Loreal Lineur Intense in Carbon Black
Laura Geller Blush-N-Brighten in Honey Dipped
Loreal Infalliable Glass in Fiery

Before:

Step 1: Foundation&Concealer
So I decided to go with a pressed foundation rather than liquid because there's not a lot of blending involved and then put on a powder to seal the foundation. This foundation is particular has been one of my favorites.

I apply concealer right after under my eye and on my lids. This certain concealer doesn't settle so I use this as an eye primer as well that way I don't have to take the extra step of apply my Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance.'m surprised by how well the concealer works as an eyeshadow primer when I'm in a pinch!

Step 2: Eyes
The brush I used is similar to the MAC 217 (I got the brush in the picture at CVS). This brush is great because it can pack color and bled color as well. I applied a light shimmery shadow to the lids. I used the eyeshadow second row down on the left side (the one under the pink shimmery shadow). Then blended that out. Then applied eyeliner and mascara. Eyeliner isn't necessary if you are in a rush. In the end I'll show you how the look turns out when I didn't apply the eyeliner. For my brows I used the pencil only on the inner corners of my brows and then the shadow from the arch out.

Step 3: Blush and Gloss
I absolutely adore the Laura Geller Blush-N-Brighten! This product works as both a blush and contour! I also love the Loreal Infalliable glosses because it cuts out half of the touch ups needed throughout the day!

Without the Eyeliner:

Hope everyone has a great week back at school!

I got a new puppy!

On Monday my brother's girlfriend Kansas and I picked up Gisele! She is an AKC (American Kennel Club) Purebred Shih Tzu that's 12 weeks old with red and white fur with green eyes and a pink nose! She's been quite a handful for the past two days but makes our household very happy! By the way, if anyone has any tips on potty training a puppy let me know!  Which isn't something that I want to happen. I'm attempting to have her pee outside! If there's any tips let me know! I've been cleaning the spot in the house that she used as her "area" with white vinegar. Have you guys tried white vinegar to get rid of their scent? I've used baking soda with the vinegar as well. i greatly appreciate any tips thrown at me on raising a puppy! Considering this is the first puppy of my own (I know it's kind of late for me to have my first puppy seeing as how most people are really young when they own a puppy or dog!)! I have a lot to learn! Enjoy the pictures ^-^

  Until next time!

Strive for Better

You'd think working at a hospital would make me want to eat healthier.. So not true. Donuts, cupcakes, bagels, chips...JUNK always end up in the break room! So during my recent shopping trip I've decided to pick up some healthier snacks! I had a lot of help with healthier eating with the Fooducate app for my iPhone. If you haven't heard of that app and you have an iPhone.. get it!! Another step I took for shopping healthier was making of list of everything I bought as I was shopping rather than making a list prior to the my shopping trip. Anyway, on to some of the snacks I purchased!

Healthy Treats:
Kemps Smooth and Cream Frozen Yogurt with Live and Active Cultures
Dole Frozen Strawberries (rated an A on the Fooducate app.. goes to show some frozen snacks are good too!)
Fage Greek Yogurt SOOO GOOD for you! I got the ones with the fruits on the side to add to the yogurt cause I'm not a fan of Greek Yogurt but I know it's good for the body.
Roasted Garlic Hummus! LOVE!
Naan All Natural Garlic (To go with the amazing Hummus)

Wishing you all luck to healthier eating! ^-^

From Day to Night!

Hello Everyone! Yesterday was both productive and relaxing; I finished work early (AMAZING!), got my books for this upcoming semester, did laundry, and met up with some friends for dinner. I just wanted to show how I took my day outfit and turned it into night! Really simple!

Day:
Forever 21 Tank
Hollister Laguna Skinny Jeans
Sanuk Yoga Mat Flip Flops

Night:
Day outfit
-Sanuk Yoga Mat Flip Flops

+Rampage Blazer
+Forever 21 Necklace
+Michael Kors shoes (LOVE THESE!)
+Belt (from a thrift store)
I tucked my jeans in for a more polished look, pinned my hair back, added the blazer and necklace and then switched out the flip flops for heels.

So that's how I changed my outfit from day to night!

Until next time!

July and August BIRCHBOX!

I've been doing a lot better at keeping up this blog! I just got my August BIRCHBOX! However, I forgot to do a post on my July Birchbox so here's both of them!

The July Birchbox was inspired by Cynthia Rowley:
Contents in the box:
-This is by far the BEST Birchbox I've recieved!
-The KIND Almond and Apricot bar was AMAZING!
-I loved the PUR Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Minerals Makeup! I've been wearing it since I received it.
-The Purity facial cleanser is really nice, however I don't find the cleanser to be as much as a miracle worker as people make Purity out out to be. (Probably will just use the rest of it when I travel.)
-The RedKen Shine Flash 02 glistening mist does the job. A little goes a long way with this product; too much left my hair too oily.
-The Korres body wash smells..that's all I got to say about that..

The August Birchbox was inspired by Technological Advances:
Contents in the Box:
-Pangea Organics Facial Cleanser felt so nice on my skin
-Tibetan Chrysanthemum Correcting Eye Treatment Pads were nice, but for $60 dollars I think I could put green tea bags on my eyes and have the same effect..
-Carol's Daughter Monoi Repairing Hair Mask is AMAZING! I wish I never tried it because the full size product is $29 dollars. As soon as I find a sale for this product I'm grabbing it!
- The Blinc eyeliner is not as amazing as their mascara's but I do love how the eyeliner removal is the same as their mascara (only comes off with warm water)
-Twistband Hair Tie: So cute! Glad I got it with the box because a set of 3 cost $5.

Yay to more consistent posts! hehe
