Hey everyone!
I can't believe how long it's been since the last time I posted! I've been quite busy lately, but now I have some free time and here I am with a post! I decided I'm going to make this a series of posts under 'So you want to be a nurse' where I'll share some tips while doing pre-reqs and what I've learned along the way. I got into the nursing program and will be starting this Fall and let me just tell you how excited I am! But that will be another post.. Right now I'm going to focus on some note taking tips!
TIPS ON TAKING NOTES:
1. Use a record and write out everything
-You're arm will hurt
-You're hand writing might get sloppy
-But you'll have everything written down
2. REVIEW and Rewrite your notes
-I'm capitalizing the "review" part because you don't want to just rewrite your notes to make them neat and easy to read, but you want to review what you are rewriting.
-This will save time for when you study later.. since you're reviewing the notes when you finally "study" you'll already have an idea of what the material is about
-Use highlighters, fun colored pens, make you're notes fun to read!

3.Break Down Your Handouts
-Even though your teacher gave you handouts rather than making you take down notes, doesn't mean you should over look them!
-Highlight the main ideas
-Write all over the hand out
4. Make Flashcards
-This is by far my favorite note taking tip!
-Flash cards are a way for you to break down certain sections of your notes into a smaller, easier, note
-Since flashcards are smaller than carrying around a binder or notebook, it's easy to bring them around to study
-Flash cards are a great way to study with a group also
-MAKE FLASH CARDS SIMPLE! Think of flash cards as a powerpoint
-You want your flashcards simple and sweet
5. Study With Notes and Flashcards
-Lay out everything in front of you and study in different ways
-Study certain areas of a chapter with notes and if you feel the need to break it down into a flashcard, do so!
-There are no rules to studying ^-^
So those are my note-taking/study tips I have! Do you have any study tips? Any requests on tips for school you want me to do? Let me know in the comments below! Happy studying!
